Environmental

Ecoscape Environmental Consultants Ltd is a specialist firm of biologists that provide consulting services on the protection and evaluation of both aquatic and terrestrial environments to local government, senior government, industry and land developers.  Ecoscape is also Kelowna based, and has a vast knowledge of the natural environment and the legislation that is critical to the protection of the natural environment.  They are one the leading consulting firms conducting environmental impact (EIA) studies for small intricate developments to extensive multi-phase projects throughout BC.  Ecoscape has worked alongside CTQ for many years helping create very liveable residential communities while ensuring that the natural features and habitat become part of the new neighbourhoods.

Geotechnical

The geotechnical assessment was undertaken by Albert Losch, PEng, formerly Principal of Calibre Geotechnical Engineering and Dr Dwayne Tannant who is a recognized specialist in rock mechanics and geotechnical engineering.  Dr Tannant is also a respected professor of engineering with experience in numerous advanced research projects in geohazard and geotechnical engineering in BC and around the world.

Mr Losch, is now with GeoPacific Consultants Ltd, providing engineering services that include geotechnical site investigations, seismic site classification, excavation and shoring design, foundations, hydrogeology, earth structures, hazard assessments, and construction monitoring.  The company provides technical services including: Materials testing of soils, aggregate, and asphalt, geophysical surveys and utility location, and Erosion and Sediment Control (ESC) design and monitoring.

Dr. Tannant is a member of the following professional organizations: CARMA, CDA, CGS, CIM, EIC, IAEG, and ISRM.  He has been on the Faculty of Engineering at UBC since 2008, previously with U of A as Director of the School of Mining, and worked as a Senior Research Engineer in Geomechanics at the School of Engineering at Laurentian University.

Dr. Tannant’s research investigates rock mechanics, geotechnical engineering, and engineering geology with emphasis on applied research associated with surface and underground excavations in rock for civil and mining applications, geohazard identification and analysis, rock support design, and geotechnical engineering of earth dams. He works on research projects with strong applied engineering components. Dr. Tannant is currently using photogrammetry as a field measuring and mapping tool, more recently using UAVs to take photos.
