In accordance with the City of West Kelowna Approvals Process, Landstar Developments submitted an Application Package in June 2021 to the City of West Kelowna. The three separate components proposed in this project have been addressed in the Application Package.
On August 24, 2021 the City of West Kelowna gave first reading to a revised City of West Kelowna Official Community Plan Amendment Bylaw and First Reading to two City of Kelowna Zoning Amendment Bylaws.
On Dec 14, 2021 the City of West Kelowna gave second reading to a City of West Kelowna Official Community Plan Amendment Bylaw and second reading to two City of Kelowna Zoning Amendment Bylaws, and directing staff to schedule a public hearing to allow the following:
- Amendment to Permit Low Density Multiple Family Residential and R3 Zoning for Townhouses above Campbell Road
- Amendment to Permit W2 Intensive Water Zone to allow for Boat Moorage Slips for the upland residential units
NOTE: Development Permit application can be made after Third Reading
Under the BC Local Government Act, A local government zoning bylaw goes through three readings and then is adopted by the municipal council. Third reading is the final discussion by Council, including any changes made along the way. The SolAqua Development received a Unanimous Third Reading approval by West Kelowna Council on April 19, 2022. Adaption is expected in early summer 2022.
